Baby milestone sessions, often called sitter sessions are truly one of my favorite stages to photograph. From sweet drooly smiles to that first little peek of teeth, this phase is filled with personality and charm. Let’s be honest, there’s almost nothing cuter.

This milestone marks an exciting time as babies begin to discover their independence and, in many cases, their ability to move. Sitter sessions typically take place around 8–10 months, when babies are sitting up confidently on their own. Some little ones arrive full of giggles and smiles, while others prefer a more serious, observant expression and both are equally adorable and meaningful to capture.

Every baby is wonderfully unique, and I always take a gentle, patient approach. Some babies warm up quickly, while others take a bit more time to feel comfortable and that’s perfectly okay. Building trust and allowing your baby to be themselves is an important part of the experience, and it’s what allows truly authentic images to shine through.

These milestone portraits celebrate a fleeting stage in your baby’s first year, one filled with curiosity, growth, and personality. It’s a joy to preserve these moments for families to look back on as their little ones continue to grow.
